Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department celebrates Park and Recreation Month  

Where can you play a game of tennis or a round of disc golf, swing and slide at a playground or take a hike? Visit a Forsyth County park. The Forsyth County Parks and Recreation Department invites all citizens to visit a county park in July and celebrate Park and Recreation Month.  

July has been designated nationally as Park and Recreation Month since 1985. During this month, the National Recreation and Park Association encourages everyone to celebrate their parks and recreation facilities and recreate as often as possible. This year’s theme is “Celebrate, Advocate, Recreate!”  

Forsyth County provides 17 parks and facilities for citizens to enjoy. In addition to the parks and facilities, the Parks and Recreation Department offers year-round activities, programs and sports for all ages.
