INVITATION TO BID

CONSTRUCTION FORTY-EIGHT BLEACHER COVERS

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioners will accept sealed bids 2:00 p.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010 for the following:

In general, providing all equipment, materials, and labor for the construction bleacher covers at Midway, Coal Mountain, and Sawnee Mountain Park.

The entire contract must within 90 calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. 

No bids will be received or accepted from any contractor who has not obtained plans from the Forsyth County Purchasing Department. All bidders must be licensed in Georgia, maintain a full time office in Georgia and have a registered agent in Georgia.

Bid specifications can be obtained by visiting our website at http://www.forsythco.com/ and clicking on the Bids & Results link on the right hand side of the page under the tab titled Government.  Instructions on how to obtain the bid documents are located at the top of the Bids & Results page.  Bid documents that can be downloaded at no cost from our website can also be obtained directly from the Forsyth County Purchasing Department Office for a non-refundable service fee of $10.00. (Cash or Check made out to “Forsyth County” only)

Bids should be typed or written legibly in ink and returned in a sealed envelope or sealed container.  All bid packages must be clearly marked on the outside lower left corner of the package face with the name of bidder, invitation to bid number and opening date. Bid packages must be complete in detail with all required information and documents and if not so completed will be rejected.  Bids are to be delivered to and will be opened and read at the Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia, 30040.  Bidders and the general public are invited to attend the bid opening.

A Bid Bond must be deposited with Bid. Bid Bonds must be in the amount of not less than 5% of the base bid and must be submitted with each bid and a Consent of Surety form from a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Georgia.  Failure to supply bonds or to sign the bid will be grounds for rejection.  The successful bidder shall provide 100% performance and payment bonds at the signing of the contract along with appropriate insurance certificates.

BIDDER MUST HAVE A CONTRACTOR’S LICENSE ISSUED BY THE STATE OF GEORGIA.

Bids, in the case of corporations not chartered in Georgia, must be accompanied by proper certificate evidencing that such corporation is authorized to do business in the State of Georgia.  In addition, the contractor must be licensed by the State of Georgia.

No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within 90 days after the actual date of opening, thereof.

Bids will be opened at 2:10 p.m Thursday, July 8, 2010 in the Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 113, Cumming, GA 30040. Award of proposal/bid will be made at a later date.  The Board of Commissioners reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  Bidders and the general public are invited to attend the bid opening.
