INVITATION TO BID

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioner’s will accept sealed bids until 2:00 p.m., Thursday July 8, 2010 for the following:

Furnishing of all Labor, Equipment, and Materials necessary for the construction of the camp site Improvements at Shady Grove Campground, located at 7800 Shadburn Ferry Road, Cumming, Georgia.

MANDATORY PRE-BID: 9:00 a.m., Monday June 21, 2010.  Only firms that attend the pre-bid meeting will have their bids accepted.  Meet at Shady Grove Campground, 7800 Shadburn Ferry Road, Cumming, GA - Playground.

Work will be required to be completed between November 1, 2010 and March 1, 2011.

Contractors must be current with their Registration with the Georgia Secretary of State's office and have all required licensure.

The envelopes containing the Bids must be sealed, addressed to Board of Commissioners of Forsyth County, Georgia, delivered to the Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia 30040, and designated as Bid No. 10-53-5212 in the lower left hand corner.  No bids will be accepted after 2:00 p.m., July 8, 2010.

Copies of the bidding documents may be obtained on or after June 9, 2010 at a non-refundable cost of $60.00 (cash/check) from the office of Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, GA 30040, Phone 770-888-8872.  Please visit our website, www.forsythco.com, on the right hand side click on "Bids & Results" and further direction will be provided.

Bid Bonds must be in the amount of not less than 5% of the base bid and must be submitted with each bid and a Consent of Surety form from a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Georgia.  Failure to supply bonds or to sign the bid will be grounds for rejection.  The successful bidder shall provide 100% performance and payment bonds at the signing of the contract along with appropriate insurance certificates.

No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening, thereof.

Award of bid will be made at a later date. Forsyth County reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to waive technicalities, and to make an award deemed in its best interest.  Bidders and the general public are invited to attend the bid opening, 2:05 p.m., Thursday July 8, 2010 at Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia.
