INVITATION TO BID

The Forsyth County Board of Commissioner’s will accept sealed bids until 2:00 p.m., Thursday July 1, 2010 for the following:

Furnishing of all Labor, Equipment, and Materials necessary for the Construction of Bethelview Road/Drew Road Intersection within Forsyth County. The project consists primarily of Grading, Drainage, Base, and Curb, at this intersection.

Forsyth County reserves the right to delay award of the contract up to 60 days from opening bids. This project shall be supervised directly by Forsyth County.

Completion date for this contract shall be on or before December 31, 2010.

Contractors must be presently pre-qualified to do this type of work with the Georgia Department of Transportation and have received a Certificate of Qualification in accordance with the Rules and Regulations approved and adopted by the State Transportation Board. Copy of Certificate is required to be submitted with your Bid.

Contractors must be current with their Registration with the Georgia Secretary of State's Office.

The Bidder is required to examine the sites of the proposed work, the Bid Specifications, Supplemental Specifications, Special Provisions, and Contract forms prior to submitting a Bid.

The envelopes containing the Bids must be sealed, addressed to Board of Commissioners of Forsyth County, Georgia, delivered to the Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia 30040, and designated as Bid No. 10-17-3150 in the lower left hand corner. No bids will be accepted after 2:00 p.m., July 1, 2010.

Copies of the bidding documents and plans may be obtained on or after June 9, 2010, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m at the office of Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, GA 30040, Phone 770-888-8872. A non-refundable fee of One Hundred dollars ($100.00) will be charged for plans and specifications. Only complete sets may be purchased.

Each Bidder must deposit with his Bid, a Bid Bond, or a Certified or Cashier's Check to the order of the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the amount bid and a Consent of Surety form from a surety company licensed to conduct business in the State of Georgia, engaging to furnish, upon award of the Contract, a Performance Bond and a Payment Bond each in a sum not less than one hundred percent (100%) of the total price bid for the completed work and the appropriate insurance certificate.

No Bidder may withdraw his Bid within 60 days after the actual date of the opening, thereof.

Award of bid will be made at a later date. The Board of Commissioner’s reserves the right to reject any or all bids. Bidders and the general public are invited to attend the bid opening, 2:05 p.m., Thursday July 1, 2010 at Forsyth County Purchasing Department, 118 Castleberry Road, Suite 13, Cumming, Georgia.
